
A young boy lives alone in a small room in a block of flats, with a phone ringing constantly, without anyone at the other end. He runs away, soon to follow everyone telling him to, until he gets involved in a search for a missing girl.
Directed by Haakon Sandøy, The Fire leans on a strong ensemble — Jan Grønli, Bonne Gauguin, Unn Vibeke Hol — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1973.
