About The Death Curtain
The plot of Death Curtain is incredibly interesting. According to the film, communists are about to blow up Istanbul with a secret bomb hidden in a curtain, but Murat Davman saves Turkey from this disaster. In the film, the leader of the communists is a woman named Leyla Sayar, while the leader of the Turkish police is another woman, Muallâ Kaynak. Murat Davman, meanwhile, is busy dealing with the bomb while also managing to keep up with both women thanks to his "little" flirtations.
Directed by Atıf Yılmaz, The Death Curtain leans on a strong ensemble — Orhan Günşiray, Suphi Kaner, Atıf Kaptan — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about adventure titles of 1960.
