After eventually being cleared of the crime Della maries her first love...Valentia.
Directed by Sam Wood, The Female leans on a strong ensemble — Betty Compson, Warner Baxter, Noah Beery — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1924.
