A tall, shy and reserved young actor accidentally signs himself up for a wrestling match.

Murcia countryside, Spain, at the end of the 19th century. Pencho, a peasant, and Xavier, son of a powerful landowner, get into a bloody fight after arguing over the distribution of irrigation water. When Xavier is injured, Pencho is forced to flee from justice.

The sentimental and comic adventures of three sailors, during a stopover of their ship in Toulon, are grafted onto a story of stolen documents, which allows the three friends to turn into amateur detectives.
